Dear Emerson Parents…
As we dropped off our two sons at Emerson, we marveled at how amazing it was that each could follow such independent paths and end up at the same college! We enjoyed watching them immerse themselves in the variety of opportunities available to students and wondered how we as parents might get involved to enhance the experience for ALL Emerson students and to enrich our lives as well.
We are certain that we are not the only parents who have yearned to switch places with our children to be able to live, work and study in the dynamic and creative environment that Emerson has cultivated.
Last year, we learned about a group of parents who had founded the Emerson Parents Leadership Council in 2005. The PLC provides for meaningful opportunities for parent involvement within the college community, a way to communicate ideas, questions, and concerns and a forum for parents to be connected with their sons' and daughters' undergraduate experience at Emerson in a concrete way.
Anyone can join the PLC regardless of where you live or how often you are on campus!
As we welcome the beginning of a new academic year, we encourage all parents to visit the Events section of this website for an updated list of meetings and events.
We look forward to your participation in the Parents Leadership Council and assure you that any level of parent involvement is very much valued and appreciated by the entire Emerson community.
Parents’ Council members have a special opportunity each academic year to enrich the Emerson College experience for current and future students.
We hope you will consider joining us!
Sincerely,
Jane Nunes and Frank Campolo
