What is the Parents Leadership Council?

The Parents Leadership Council is designed to engage parents, enrich student experiences, and strengthen the College's financial foundation through enhanced communication and meaningful opportunities for parent involvement within the College community.

Council members pledge to:

Invest

Connect

  • Make a family leadership gift at a suggested level of $1,000
  • The PLC works on a “give or get” model—families make leadership gifts or inspire other parents to give
  • Leadership gifts can be made in monthly installments

Attend at least one PLC meeting annually:

  • Family Weekend October 24, 2009
  • PLC President’s Weekend March 26-27, 2009
  • Regional events Dates TBA

Participate in volunteer campaigns:

  • Outreach—welcome new families, capture feedback, and invite them to join the PLC
  • Parent Partners—fundraise for Emerson scholarships and projects
  • Emissaries: The Admission Volunteer Program at Emerson College—assist with recruitment
  • Stay connected to their students’ experience
  • Hear inside information about College news and announcements
  • Network with each other and the greater Emerson community
  • Receive special invitations to attend EC events and assist with ad hoc projects
