Emerson encourages qualified students to participate in internships to gain practical experience and develop professional contacts. To be eligible to earn internship credit, students must be of junior or senior standing (having earned at least 64 credits), with a GPA of at least 2.7. Check with your academic department for additional pre-requisites.
For students entering the College in Fall 2001 or after, no more than eight credits of internship (with the exception of student teaching) and no more than 12 credits of any combination of internship, directed study and directed project may be applied to the total graduation requirements. This rule does not apply to students who entered under the 2000 catalogue or earlier. For students under the 2000 catalogue, no more than 12 credits of combined internship, directed study, and directed project credits may be applied to the major, but additional internship, directed study, and directed project credits may be earned as elective credit.
