    Discover tips and tricks for saving money and staying healthy at the grocery store. Students will learn some simple and creative meals that can be achieved on the typical college student's budget, view a live cooking demonstration and sample healthy, cost effective meal options.

    During the event we will also cover:

    • How to use the Stop & Shop App to manage your shopping budget
    • Developing a 7 day shopping list
    • Dinner for 4: Shopping for you and your roommates

  • Immunization Clinic- CHW

    The Center for Health & Wellness (CHW) will hold monthly immunization clinics for students needing to complete their pre-matriculation immunization requirements this semester. Flu shots will also be available while supply lasts.
    Fees for immunizations available at the CHW are provided below.

    The following immunizations/tests are available at the CHW.  Students with private insurance must pay in advance at the Student Services Center and bring receipt of payment to the CHW:

    • Hepatitis B (age 20+) $80/dose
    • Hepatitis B (through age 19) $40/dose
    • Measles/Mumps/ Rubella (MMR) $75/dose
    • TB (Tuberculosis) Skin test $15 –unable to perform test on Thursdays
    • Seasonal Influenza / Flu $30 Tdap (tetanus& whooping cough) $53 /dose

    • Varicella (Chickenpox Vaccine) is NOT available at the CHW -appointments to test for immunity may be scheduled.

    Call in advance for availability:

    • Meningococcal vaccine (must be ordered in advance at the CHW- you will be notified at your Emerson email address when the vaccine is available) $124
    • HPV- (Human PapillomaVirus)- contact CHW to order $150/ dose (not required for enrollment) If completing series bring verification of prior dose(s)

    The flu virus is hitting adolescents and young adults especially hard this season. Vaccine is recommended for all but is especially indicated for those with a chronic medical condition: diabetes, cancer/chemotherapy, asthma (requiring daily medication), those under age 19 on long term aspirin therapy, heart/valve problems, immune compromised, sickle cell/liver/kidney disease, and pregnant women or parent or primary caretaker to children under the age of 6, are encouraged to receive a flu shot as soon as possible.

    Me + Her. A Cardboard Love Story: When Jack and Jill of Cardboard City are separated by Jill's torrid illness, Jack must think outside the box to assure they will be together again.

    An official selection of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, Me + Her is a live action fantasy short where all of the main characters and sets were built out of standard cardboard boxes on a one fifth scale – and shot using the Blackmagic Cinema Camera and Pocket Cinema Camera.

    We welcome both director Joseph Oxford and cinematographer Bradley Stonesifer for a special conversation on DIY filmmaking and a screening of Me + Her. Bring your questions on storytelling, DIY filmmaking and festival screening process for Joey and Bradley to engage with you!

    Additionally, Emerson alum Ben Consoli (Class of 2002) will join us for a special hands-on tour of what's new in Final Cut Pro X 10.1. Don't miss it!
