Starting in 2007, filmmaker David Lynch hit the road in support of his David Lynch Foundation, whose goals include the construction of "peace universities" around the world, where focused meditation is hoped to bring an end to global war and suffering. The Foundation has garnered plenty of attention, much of it dismissive; Meditation, Creativity, Peace lets viewers judge for themselves whether the filmmaker's quest merits the mockery. The documentary will surely interest Lynch's most devoted fans, whose number is not trivial, and is an intriguing present-day look at a practice whose popularity peaked when the Beatles discovered it.

  • Invisible Children--Tony Screening

    Oct2220139:00 pm - 10:00 pm

    Max Mutchnick Campus Center

Sponsored by Emerson Peace and Social Justice with Invisible Children at Emerson

    For more information please contact:
    Liana Genito

The Invisible Children at Emerson (ICE) sponsered by Emerson Peace and Social Justice (EPSJ) will be hosting a screening of the documentary Tony, the story of a boy who has personal experience with the violence of the Lord's Resistance Army. The Emerson community may know of the Invisible Children organization from the "KONY 2012" campaign to bring attention to Joseph Kony's crimes. However, the new campaign is focused on bringing this issue to an end. We are hoping you can find your personal anchor to this cause. Bring your questions, your passions, and your appetite. There will be free food, IC merchandise for sale, and more personal accounts of LRA violence that have brought to us to fight for this cause—and hopefully will inspire you, too.
