Everyone will give a presentation at some point in their life, especially during or after their time in the graduate programs at Emerson College. It could be a project for a class, a topic at a professional conference, or a big board meeting.

However, just giving a presentation is not enough for people to remember you or the importance of your topic. Knowing how to give an effective presentation is important in helping you communicate your message in a memorable and effective way.

Richard Zauft, the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Dean of Graduate Studies, is hosting an informational workshop called How to Give an Effective Presentation. This workshop will address the basics of preparation, handling introductions, presentation skills and best practices, and wrapping up a presentation.

This event is limited to the first 50 students who RSVP via this link.

This event will also be catered. We hope to see you there!

Earth Emerson is holding a student-wide Freecycle Event!!

All students are welcome to attend and may bring unwanted reusable items (clothes, accessories, school supplies, etc) to make available for other students to claim.  Students who have nothing to donate are welcome.  T

he concept behind a freecycle is like a free tag sale/ item swap.  Anything that is allowed on campus is allowed to be freecycled (but please, no food).

We will also be screening "Dive!" A documentary about dumpster diving.  There will be popcorn from the Loews Theater.

Donors can bring their items to the event as early as 5:30 the day of, but if they need Earth Emerson to hold onto their items beforehand they may email Erin Moriarty or Kalea Holmes, Co-Presidents.

This is a great opportunity for students to get old stuff from home over break and to prepare getting rid of unwanted items before summer vacation.

It is being held in conjunction with Recyclemania, the nationwide recycling competition which the school is participating in for the second year.
