Journalism department Senior Leader-in-Residence Carole Simpson appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources to weigh in on Matt Lauer’s rumored departure from the Today Show and Barbara Walters’ recent announcement that she’ll be stepping down a year from this May. Simpson said Lauer is being blamed for Ann Curry’s messy departure last summer, and that Walters, who she calls a “remarkable woman,” will go down in history as one of the best TV newswomen ever.
