Meyers Tells the Globe She Likes Wearing Both Hats

Rebecca Meyers, Emerson’s new director of film programs, recently sat down with Mark Feeney of The Boston Globe to talk about programming ArtsEmerson’s Bright Family Screening Room and her latest film, Blue Mantle. The film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Meyers told Feeney that she will be programming the 170-seat screening room for the moviegoing public as well as Emerson students.
“I think that one of the most important functions for a film programmer is educational, in that you’re sharing with the audience what the possibilities are, the different things film can do. In that sense, all filmgoers are students,” Meyers said.
