McGackin's book mentioned on Time.com
July 14, 2011
2007 Emerson graduate Brian McGackin’s new book Broetry: Poetry for Dudes was recently featured in Time.com’s Newsfeed section. The book is a collection of “poetry for dudes” dealing with such manly topics as, beer, sex, sports, and Bruce Willis. “Poetry is portrayed as an extremely highbrow, borderline elitist art form and is generally not accessible to casual readers,” McGackin told Time. “I think poetry should be for everyone.” In its commentary on the book, the Time post stated, “ McGackin establishes himself as a capable wordsmith who accomplishes what he sets out to do: entertain.”
