This year’s Boston Jewish Film Festival fall fundraiser is being called a “Friendsational Celebration” in honor of Emerson alumnus and Executive Artist-in-Residence Kevin Bright ’76.

Bright was the executive producer of the long-running TV comedy series Friends. At the fundraiser he will share remarks about producing and directing the show and answer questions about his role as Executive Artist-in-Residence at Emerson, and as volunteer instructor for Perkins School for the Blind filmmaking students.

The fundraiser will take place Saturday, October 23, at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at the Harvard Medical School in Boston.

“Our Fall Festival is our signature event, attracting over 10,000 attendees each year,” says Joyce Pastor, Chair of the Board of the Boston Jewish Film Festival. “This Fundraiser helps ensure the ongoing strength of our organization. Less than 20% of our funding comes from Festival ticket sales, so the support of Kevin Bright and this ‘Friendsational Celebration’ will allow us to continue bringing new films and filmmakers to the New England community. Kevin represents the caliber of talent we honor and celebrate at our fundraiser event, and throughout the Festival.”

This is the 22nd year for the Boston Jewish Film Festival, which will be held November 3–14. The Boston Jewish Film Festival presents contemporary films from around the world on Jewish themes.

“The Festival has a great national reputation,” said Bright. “It is important to me to support both independent film and the Jewish community throughout New England.”
