Emersonians discuss producing for the web in Boston Globe

August 27, 2014

Emerson MFA candidate Christian Kiley and Michael Cyril Creighton ’01, producer of the award-winning web series Jack in the Box, are among several Boston-based filmmakers, including fellow Emerson graduates, who have taken to the web to showcase original content.

The article cites artistic freedom, access to consumers, and broadcast quality among the reasons that filmmakers are producing for the web.

Some of the web series mentioned in the article that are currently on the web or in production include Unsure/Positive, with HIV-positive actor (and protagonist) Kiley and co-producer and Emerson MFA candidate Amy DePaola, who also co-produced both Beacon Hill and 617 with Katie Shannon, MFA ’09.
