Emerson alumnus and Jersey Boys star Joe Bwarie ’99 was mentioned in the Boston Globe after a recent visit to Emerson, in which he taught a master class to high school–age performing arts students who were participating in a six-week summer program. Bwarie spent several hours with the students, leading them through a mock audition for a Broadway show and critiquing their approaches, including what they wore to the audition. He also taught them a dance routine from Jersey Boys.

Bwarie has returned to campus often in recent years. When he does, he always makes time for Emerson students, giving them advice and encouragement on their dreams of pursuing careers in the performing arts.

He recently released his first CD, Nothin’ But Love.
