Bright '76 profiled on Rock Center
May 28, 2013
Kevin Bright ’76, who was recently named senior executive director and founding director of the Emerson College Los Angeles Center, was profiled May 24 by NBC News’ Rock Center for his work with students at the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Massachusetts.
Bright, former executive producer of the hit television show Friends, and who has worked as Executive Artist-In-Residence for Emerson’s Visual and Media Arts Department since 2006, has been teaching video production classes to blind students. He was first drawn to Perkins after seeing a choir of Perkins students singing the national anthem at a Boston Celtics game.
“I am humbled by all of these amazing students here,” Bright told NBC reporter Harry Smith. “They gave me life lessons I could not have gotten anywhere else.”
