    Patriots parade rolls by Emerson campus

    Emerson and the city of Boston were alive with pride for the New England Patriots on February 4 as the Super Bowl XLIX champions paraded through downtown Boston past the Emerson main campus on Boylston and Tremont streets.

    Several of Emerson’s international students participated in the International Coffee and Conversation event in Common Ground, a new community space in the Walker Building, on January 29, where they discussed everything from snow to the Super Bowl in an informal setting with hot chocolate, coffee, and healthy snacks.

    Emerson students, faculty, and staff attended a reception January 30 celebrating the College’s Community Engagement Classification from the Carnegie Foundation, which recognizes the College for its high level of commitment to civic and community engagement.

    Traci Blackwell is a CW television network executive relishing in a Golden Globe win for a show she oversees, Jane the Virgin, just months after receiving her Emerson College master's degree.

    Former College Administrator Brooks Russell Dies

    Brooks Russell ’72, a longtime Emerson administrator who is remembered best for his outsized personality, died January 29 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was 84 and had been a resident of Wakefield, Massachusetts.

    Joseph ties MLK memory to Ferguson

    Tufts University History Professor Peniel Joseph joined the Emerson community January 30 for a talk on correlations between past and current black movements and an explanation of why civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. should be remembered as revolutionary.
