Sudan civil war survivor John Bul Dau held a question-and-answer session February 5 at the Bright Family Screening Room following a screening of God Grew Tired of Us, a 2006 documentary that follows the journey of Bul Dau and other “Lost Boys” as they escape civil war, survive in dire conditions at a refugee camp, and eventually are chosen to be resettled in the United States. The film won the Sundance Film Festival’s Grand Jury Prize Audience Award. The Emerson screening was sponsored by the Department of Visual and Media Arts and EBONI.
