For the first time ever, Emerson’s four a cappella groups—Acappellics Anonymous, Achoired Taste, Noteworthy, and Treble Makers—will unite on stage for a special concert, titled “A Toast To Emerson’s Voice: Acappellooza 2014,” on Friday, March 28 at 7:30 pm at the Paramount Mainstage. All of the concert’s profits will be distributed to Emerson student and diversity scholarships as well as the four a cappella groups.

Acappellooza 2014 is an initiative of the Spirit of Emerson, a community-building celebration of Emerson College.
“It’s an opportunity for the whole community, including President Lee Pelton, members of the governing boards, senior administrators, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the College, to get together and toast Emerson for its continued success,” said Tom Cooper, Visual and Media Arts professor and faculty advisor to Acappellooza 2014.
“We have many special performances in store to honor our school,” said Ari Conte ’15, co-producer of the show. “Acappellooza is a chance for Emersonians to come together, have fun, and celebrate our community. It’s also a fundraiser for student scholarships. We are spreading the Emerson spirit to an audience but also to future students, which is an extremely rewarding thought.”
Fermata Town, a local semiprofessional mixed a cappella group, whose members include Emerson alumni, will also perform.
Tickets to Acappellooza 2014 may be purchased online or at the Paramount Box Office at 559 Washington Street. Tickets cost $22 for adults, $17 for seniors, and $10 for students and children.
Acappellooza is sponsored by the Office of the Arts; the departments of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Communication Studies, Marketing Communication, Performing Arts, Visual and Media Arts, and Writing, Literature and Publishing; Elma Lewis Center for Civic Engagement, Learning, and Research; Emerson A Cappella Council; Emerson Athletics; Faculty Assembly; Faculty Council; Iwasaki Library; the offices of Academic Affairs, Communications and Marketing, the Dean of Students, Development and Alumni Relations, Diversity and Inclusion, Enrollment Management, and the President; the Spirit of Emerson; and WERS-FM.
