The fifth annual Emerson Experience in Entrepreneurship (E3) Exposition was held April 24 in Emerson's Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gym.

Evy Chen '11 won this year's E3 competition with her Egerton Tea House concept. She proposed a high-end tea house that would open first in Boston and then expand.

"The Expo was great. All of the E3 Entrepreneurs proved that they really have what it takes. [Keynote speaker] Trinette Faint's moving address was inspiring. The Expo is my favorite event of the year," said Karl Baehr, Emerson's director of Business and Entrepreneurial Studies.

Established in 2005, E3 is a unique year-long program that offers students a hands-on entrepreneurship experience, from developing a concept to creating a business plan and a marketing plan to making a pitch to venture capitalists for funding.

"I can't believe it's already been five years of E3, and almost 100 student business opportunities created so far," said Baehr.

Approximately 35 percent of the ventures presented at previous expositions have been launched, which puts E3 on a par with, or exceeding, the launch performance of many of the top entrepreneurial studies programs in the country. The E3 Exposition is the capstone event of the year-long program.
