Emerson Trustee Vin Di Bona ’66 held a conversation with students and Tom Kingdon, associate professor in the Department of Visual and Media Arts, on October 23 about what it takes to make it in the television and film industry.

Di Bona was the executive producer of America’s Funniest Home Videos and worked on an array of other programs, including MacGyver. He is now executive producer of Vin Di Bona Productions.

Among his advice to students, Di Bona said to always have a “reel” of work to show to potential employers, and to always aim toward cities with the biggest markets and opportunity, such as New York and Los Angeles.

Fittingly, the talk was held at the Vin Di Bona Studio in the Tufte Performance and Production Center. It was hosted by the National Broadcasting Society, Emerson Chapter
