Media Services Center Video Streaming Kit Usage Policy
Introduction
The Media Services Center is now circulating a “video streaming kit”, which contains a laptop streaming server and a video camera.
Appropriate Use Statement
Streaming services are intended to facilitate academic endeavors including, but not limited to, course media, special events, and other related activities. College community members who are generating streaming media are reminded to use the streaming system responsibly and to comply with Federal and Commonwealth of Massachusetts Law, as well as College rules and policies. Furthermore, as streaming propagates globally, please ensure that you have secured rights to use all the materials which you include in your stream for which you are not the copyright holder. You must obtain written release forms from any on-screen participants of the video/audio stream.
Who Can Stream Events
Faculty, students, and staff may borrow the equipment to stream Emerson College affiliated activities. Students may borrow the equipment in relation to an SGA sponsored and recognized club/organization or as a registered participant in a College course. General users borrowing equipment to stream College special events must be working on behalf of the principal organizer of the event. To borrow the equipment students must obtain sponsorship from an Emerson College Faculty or Staff member. The application to reserve this equipment may be picked up at the Media Service’s Center (3rd floor of 180 Tremont), and must be followed up with an e-mail from the Faculty or Staff member sponsoring the video/audio stream.
Support and Training On The Use Of Equipment
Users who have properly made a reservation for the use of the streaming kit will pick up the equipment at the Media Services Center (3rd floor of 180 Tremont).
