Ari FrankelPart Time Faculty (2008) B.M., Tel Aviv University; M.M., Boston University http://www.arifrankel.com Ari Frankel is a composer and writer active in film, television, opera, dance, theater and children edutainment. He has explored themes from T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land, The Tibetan Book Of The Dead, Anne Sexton, Primo Levi, Ezra Pound and others, with collaborators such as Muna Tseng Dance Projects, The Atlantic Theater, Fiona Shaw, John Kelly and The Actors Studio. Among his film works are Michael Apted's Incident at Oglala [Robert Redford, producer] and several Rebo/NHK Hi-Definition programs including Passage to Vietnam and Doctors Without Frontiers. Frankel's compositions have been presented by New York City Opera's Showcasing American Composers, American Opera Projects, LaMama Theatre and many others. Venues have included The Purcell Room @ South Bank Centre, London, Japan, Israel, Italy, and China, The DIA Center for the Arts, The Joyce, SummerStage in Central Park and The Bourges Electroacoustic Music Festival. |
