    Emerson Launch is featured in Improper Bostonian’s Innovation section. The piece highlights the program’s origins, featured offerings, and current entrepreneurial student participants. Emerson Launch was one of only three entrepreneurial programs highlighted in the piece, titled “Big Ideas 101.”

  • NRG EVgo Emerson rEVolution Contest winner

    Electric Vehicle Video Wins Students $25,000 Scholarship

    Henry Maclean ’17 accepted a $25,000 scholarship on behalf of himself and two fellow filmmakers on March 1 for winning the Emerson rEVolution contest with their 32-second video about electric vehicles, “Power to Be Free.” The scholarship contest was held and funded by NRG EVgo, a Houston-based electric charging solutions company that looked to use the submissions to raise awareness of the global movement toward electric vehicles (EV). Contestants, all Emerson students, submitted 30- to 60-second videos showcasing the benefits of EVs, which were viewed by a panel of judges from EVgo and Emerson College that chose the top ten. Nearly 5,000 people voted to choose the winner from the judges’ selections.

    Wrigley works to advance diversity in PR

    Brenda Wrigley, chair of the Marketing Communication Department, has been named to the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee of the Plank Center Board. The Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations, based at the University of Alabama, has a mission “to help develop and recognize outstanding diverse public relations leaders, role models, and mentors to advance ethical public relations in an evolving, global society,” according to its webpage.
