Image Database Trials
Many students and faculty have expressed interest in having access to more searchable databases of images.
The Corbis Images for Education contains 400,000 historical, fine art, nature, and science images. From October 11th until November 10th, the you may search The Corbis Images for Education on campus through the library trial. If you would like off-campus access, please contact James Capobianco by email or phone (x8332).
ARTstor is a digital repository of about 500,000 images and related data that includes tools to use these images in the teaching process. Several faculty, administrators and librarians attended a demonstration of ARTstor on October 11 in the Library Classroom. As a result of this meeting, ARTstor will be available for faculty and students to preview from November 1st until November 15th.
If you would like a demonstration of or more information about either of these databases during their trial periods, or would like to provide feedback, please contact James Capobianco at the phone and email above.
