We use a number of factors, including importance to our curriculum, price, and what electronic resources we already have, in our decision of whether or not to purchase a new resource. Reference Universe - An electronic copy of the indexes of thousands of books - search for terms to find relevant books held in the reference and main collections of the library. On-campus access only.
Cinema Image Gallery - A collection of posters, lobby-cards, and other advertising material, included candid portraits and behind-the-scenes images from films and movie studios throughout the last 120 years. Includes some reviews and research material in full-text.
Newsbank World News: Research Collection - Full-text access to American and world news sources - weekly and daily, from smalltown newspapers to national news sources, with a backfile of fulltext for approximately 3-5 years, sometimes longer. On-campus access only.
OpinionArchives - searchable fulltext access to backissues of the American Spectator, Commonweal, Dissent, the New York Review of Books, and several other titles. On-campus access only.
Opera in Video - streaming video of classic and modern operas performed in venues around the world by .
Dance in Video - streaming video of classic and modern ballet and dance performed in venues around the world.
Theatre in Video - streaming video of classic and modern pdrama and comedy performed in venues around the world by celebrated award-winning actors.
Pop Culture Universe - Brief and referenced reviews, overviews and images of modern popular culture broken down year by year. Available through mid-November.

Ebsco Research Starter - Sociology
The Research Starters are study and research guides designed specifically for advanced high school students, college students and selected graduate students. They consist of comprehensive, yet concise topic summary articles of about 3,000 words in length written by researchers, scholars and other subject matter experts.
Ovid Resource of the Month
Ovid provides trial access to the public of a selected resource each month.
