Accessing Library Resources from Off Campus via EZProxy
Members of the Emerson College community can access the web-based resources available on the Library's web site from home or other computers by using the Library's proxy server, if you have a valid Emerson College ECnet account and access to the Internet. If you don't already have one, visit the Information Technology Help Desk at 120 Boylston Street on the 4th floor to obtain an Emerson College ECnet account. Remember to bring your Emerson ID card. Contact the Help Desk for more information at (617) 824-8080.
After selecting a web-based resource such as Academic Search Premier or Lexis Nexis Academic Universe on the Library's web site from the list by title or the lists by subject, you will need to enter your ECnet username and password before continuing on to the resource. This is the same username and password used for your Emerson email account. Do not add @emerson.edu after your username.
We no longer use the method that requires browser configuration. If your browser was configured in the past, please remove that configuration by using these instructions.
If you have a link to an article or citation from one of these resources and wish to access it off campus, you will need to prefix the link with:
http://proxy.emerson.edu/login?url=
For example, if you have this link:
http://www.domain.com/direct.asp?an=123456789&db=aph
Use the following to gain access to it when you are at a computer that is not on campus:
http://proxy.emerson.edu/login?url=http://www.domain.com/direct.asp?an=123456789&db=aph
For assistance with your ECnet account, contact the IT Help Desk at (617) 824-8080.
If you encounter any problems, you may also contact Elena O'Malley, Assistant Director for Technology and Access Services, at (617) 824-8339, by email at elena_omalley@emerson.edu, or IM EmersonLibCIS (AOL, Yahoo, Google).
