ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I am a portrait painter. I tell stories about real people. Sometimes the stories are fact and sometimes they are fiction but they are all true in their own way.

Each image grows out of a combination of the physical likeness of the subject, the persona projected, the situation in which it takes place, and the process of painting. A moment is created/captured.

I hope the paintings speak for themselves.
