Adrienne Der Marderosian: "Textures of Memory"
A new art exhibit is on display at the library February 1 through June 13, 2003. Adrienne Der Marderosian's "Textures of Memory" features works on paper that "reflect my exploration of design, surface and form and how this relates to landscape and figurative imagery. My images are unspoken memories that have some shared commonality. These works on paper rely less on actual observation and more on my personal recollections. My intention is, in part, to show how our memories are shaped by the passage of time. As our memories fade, images are lost, obscured or blurred. Distortions in form occur. Yet a sense of place or person still exists, a passage of time is implied; a history of events has unfolded."
