Mobile Teaching Lab (MTL)

MTLThe Mobile Teaching Lab is a convenient solution for classes that only require a few computing sessions a semester. The MTL, which is housed in a mobile cart, consists of 24 Apple MacBook workstations, plus one teacher station and a black & white laser printer. The workstations connect wirelessly via ECMobile to the Internet and Emerson College's networked resources (including Pages and 8-Day Public), as well as to the MTL printer.

The MTL is available for class use in properly networked classrooms in the Walker Building (120 Boylston Street) and the Tufte Performance and Production Center (10 Boylston Place). It is delivered to classrooms by IT technicians who connect the printer to the network and pass the laptops to the students.

For examples of how professors are using the Mobile Teaching Lab in their course curriculum, visit the faculty showcase on the ITG web site.

Faculty members interested in reserving the Mobile Teaching Lab for a class session may fill out the Lab Reservation Request Form online.
