Below is our workshop and special event calendar. If you are interested in more learning opportunities, the IT Help Desk has subscriptions available for Element K, and online software teaching tool. Also, if you have any suggestions for workshops, please just e-mail the Help Desk - helpdesk@emerson.edu. The TRF staff also puts on workshops on high-end software and file management. To sign up for a DPL workshop, please view the current schedule posted outside DPL1 on the 8th floor of 180 Tremont Street.

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop
In this session, the attendee will be introduced to the interface and basic use of Adobe Photoshop. This is an excellent session for anyone who would like to learn to manipulate pictures using a computer.
No previous Photoshop experience is necessary, but users will need their ECnet usernames and passwords in order to participate.

Introduction to QuarkXPress
Learn the basics of page layout and design with the industry standard design and layout software, QuarkXPress.

Introduction to Adobe InDesign
If you would like to layout a magazine, a poster, a pamphlet, or even a book, this workshop will help you to get started. This hands-on session will cover basic print layout and design using Adobe InDesign.

Join us for a discussion of the basics of creating your own website. Attendees will learn to use Adobe Dreamweaver to make a basic webpage.

Introduction to Apple iMovie
Learn the basics of nonlinear editing in Apple iMovie. This workshop teaches the basic skills needed to edit and export video in iMovie, and also teaches practices that can help with other video editing programs, such as Avid and Final Cut Pro.
No previous iMovie experience is necessary, but users will need their ECnet usernames and passwords in order to participate.

If you would like to make 2D animations or presentations for the web, this is a great place to start. In this session, we will discuss the basics of Animation with Adobe Flash.
