Lab Operations

Printing to Campus Printers from Personal Computers (including Laptops)

For your convenience, you can connect your laptop or desktop personal computer to the printers in the computer labs, kiosks, and library. Please note that print jobs will only be available at the Print Release Stations for two hours after they are sent to the printer. For this reason, we suggest you print to a printer that is geographically convenient to you. Also, some computer labs host classes during the day. To avoid disturbing a class, we recommend printing to the following open access facilities:

To help save paper and reduce printing costs, double-sided printing is now available in a number of campus locations, including open-access labs, kiosks, and the library. Please see the Printing & Scanning page for more information about double-sided printing.

After you install the printer (Windows or Mac):
If you would like to print a document, go to the file menu in your chosen application and select print. Along with any local printers, you should now see additional Emerson printers in the list. After clicking Print at your workstation, your print job will be available at the Print Release Station near your chosen printer for two hours. For instructions on printing in the lab, see the Printing and Scanning page.

If you would like to use your own paper, labels, or transparencies in the laser printers, please visit the IT Help Desk or see the lab assistant before attempting to print. Please remember to have your Emerson photo ID when you print. If you cannot swipe your card at the print release station, you will not be able to collect your printout. If you need any assistance while printing, please alert the lab assistant.
