Department of Journalism
Meet the Graduate Program Director
"The time for thinking of international news as 'foreign news' is past. Journalists have to become global citizens who can meet the challenges of covering the most important issues facing us in the 21st century, including the environment, scientific change, and human rights," says Dr. Robins. She carries that philosophy into the classroom in teaching such courses as as global journalism and feature writing. She also brings this to her work as Graduate Program Director for the Department of Journalism.
Associate Professor Melinda B. Robins has a passion for international communications. She has taught in and written about journalism in Africa, India, and Palestine, and brings this experience into the classroom as a way to investigate not only foreign news, but to give insight into the many immigrant groups in Boston area.
