World Drama in its context (TH215)

John Bell, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Performing Arts
The course site is organized by the major world theatres, each a separate course content area. These sections contain readings, course notes, and online resources. Engaging images and Professor Bell's own, written introduction, help orient students to the characteristics of each theater.
Professor Bell's writing assignments are intended to gauge what he describes as students' "deep thinking about how theater works." Facilitated online, the peer review process requires students to think critically about structure, style, and mechanics, as well as the evolution of their ideas. Importantly, Professor Bell effectively uses a wiki for one of the collaborative writing assignments.
