Shakespearean Tragedy (LI372)
![]() | Dewitt Henry, Ph.D. Professor Writing, Literature and Publishing |
This course seeks to introduce the student to the study of Shakespearean tragedies through a variety of approaches.
The WebCT site hosts a wealth of multimedia resources around Shakespeare's performances and the course assignments. Clicking on Macbeth, for example, offers students text describing the significance and most interesting aspects of the play; a starting point for viewing and reading Macbeth. Prompted with specific questions from Professor Henry, this introduction links to the discussion forum, where students post reflections on Macbeth. Before participating in class discussion, the students may view the entire performance of the BBC version of Macbeth, available through streaming video.
Professor Henry references resources on the site in class by projecting it to a screen, linking student work in and out of the classroom. Read more...
