The ideas, phrases and notes in Thomas Vogel's own notebook serve as inspiration for the MH342 Creative Principles and Practice course Web site.
Vogel worked with the Instructional Technology Group to create an interactive multimedia component that combines core concepts from his course with the serendipity of creative exploration. Students encounter the interactive module upon logging in to the course site. A page from Vogel's notebook serves as a foundation for creative discovery, as assorted photos, illustrations and connections fade in, assemble, reassemble and fade out. Interactive roll-overs trigger quotations on creativity, sounds, and images.
The course Web site is divided into five sections -- assignments, readings, Vogel's lectures, student presentations and creative resources. The sections do more than serve as archives for course material; each section is also visually integrated into the interactive module. The goal is to illustrate the unique combination of freedom and organization that facilitates creativity.
