Student Information System (WALDO)
WALDO Accounts
WALDO is the name of a server from which authorized users can retrieve information on Emerson students and courses, as well as access departmental budgets and purchase orders.
Supervisors can request a WALDO account for new employees by sending an e-mail to Derek Thomas , Director of Information Systems. If the new staff member needs access to the departmental budget lookup application, the supervisor should also e-mail the Controller in the Business and Finance office and indicate which specific accounts need to be accessible.
A note about WALDO security
WALDO is used officially by Emerson College staff and faculty for administrative purposes only. Unauthorized use by anyone is strictly prohibited. Never share your password with anyone or write it down in a conspicuous place. Please DO NOT leave your WALDO session logged on and unattended at any time.
Forgotten your password?
If you have forgotten your WALDO password, you will need to go the Help Desk at 120 Boylston on the 4th floor with your staff or faculty ID. While we can not tell you what you current password is, we can reset it to a new password for you. Please note that you must have your Emerson ID card with you to get your password reset. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL WALDO PASSWORDS BE GIVEN OUT OVER THE PHONE.
How do I access WALDO?
The College uses a few different communications (Telnet/SSH) software to view and query information on WALDO. For Windows clients, Emerson uses PuTTY (or QVT-TERM on older machines); Macintosh users can use Terminal or iTerm.
You can also transfer files to and from WALDO using FTP (File Transfer Protocol). CoreFTP for Windows and Fetch for Macintosh are the two most commonly-used FTP software on campus.
The software that you will be using will depend on what you have installed on your computer. If you need communications or FP software installed on your computer, please contact the Help Desk at ext. 8080.
