Who to call in Human Resources
Alexa Jackson: Associate Vice President, Human Resources, 617-824-8133
Leads the HR Office. Works collaboratively, develops, and implements HR strategy based upon best practices and high quality service. Committed to the effective delivery of programs and services across the College.
This function is responsible for the execution of all policies, processes, decisions, and activities related to payroll and tax compliance.
Kevin Kerris: Director, Payroll/Operations, 617-824-8950
Responsible for in-house payroll operations, compliance, and reporting. Process mapping and workflows. Liaison to Finance Accounting and vendor interfaces. Administers web-time entry.
This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions, and activities related to HR Information Systems and HR reporting.
Candace Carter-Smalley: Director, HRIS/Operations, 617-824-8125
Responsible for HR systems/technology, maintenance and process. Generates management reports and administers self-service options. Liaison to Information Technology and the Budget Office.
Tonya Walker: HR Service Coordinator/Operations , 617-824-8580
Member of the HR Operations Team. Directs all incoming inquiries to the appropriate HR staff. Oversees the front desk, personnel files, and scheduling. Assists with various HR projects.
This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions, and activities related to employment, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding (orientation), employee relations, and terminations.
Kim Marcella: Director of Employment and Employee Relations, 617-824-8452
Leads the Employment team. Oversees all employment related activities, including, recruitment, hiring, onboarding (orientation), and employee relations.
Associate Manager of Employment
Member of the Employment team. Responsible for recruitment, orientation, and onboarding of new hires. Provides consultative support to managers efficiently completing these processes.
Rachel Gelaw: Sr. HR Associate, 617-824-8256
Member of the Employment team. Responds to staff inquiries surrounding employment matters, provides administrative support for employment related processes.
This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions, and activities related to compensation, benefits, heal/financial wellness programs, status changes (position title, etc.), and compliance.
Peter Owens: Director, Compensation/ Benefits, 617-824-8581
Leads the Total Rewards team. Plans and implements best practices in compensation and benefits programming. Rollout and implementation of programs and services.
STAFF & ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions, and activities related to organization-wide staff development, and serves an advisory role with respect to organizational development.
Leads the Staff & Organizational Development Function. Provides consultative support to offices and departments on topics such as organizational strategy, succession planning, change management, and staff development. Co-Chairs the HR Advisory Council, and Chairs the Learning and Development Subcommittee to the HR Advisory Council. Oversees professional development policies at Emerson. Oversees the performance management process.
