Dedicated to excellence and efficiency, the Office of Human Resources is committed to establishing collaborative partnerships across the College to attract, develop, reward and retain a diverse and inclusive workforce; motivated to achieve extraordinary outcomes for our community.

The HR Team is grouped into five functional areas:  HR Operations (HR Service Center and Payroll), Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, Organizational Development & Training, HR Compliance.

Leads the HR Office. Works collaboratively, develops and implements HR strategy based upon best practices and high quality service. Committed to the effective delivery of programs and services across the College.

HR OPERATIONS

This function is responsible for the execution of all internal HR business operations and systems management.

Responsible for all internal HR operations and systems management, including HRIS, HR Service Center and Payroll.

PAYROLL

This function is responsible for the execution of all policies, processes, decisions and activities related to payroll and tax compliance.

Responsible for in-house payroll operations, compliance and reporting. Process mapping and workflows. Liaison to Finance Accounting and vendor interfaces. Administers web-time entry.

Members of the Payroll team. Responsible for payroll data entry, responding to inquiries, reconciliation and troubleshooting.

HR SERVICE CENTER

This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions and activities related to HR Information Systems and HR reporting.

EMPLOYMENT/EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions, and activities related to employment, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding (orientation), employee relations, and terminations.

Leads the Employment team. Oversees all employment related activities, including, recruitment, hiring, onboarding (orientation) and employee relations.

Member of the Employment team. Responsible for recruitment, orientation and onboarding of new hires. Provides consultative support to managers efficiently completing these processes.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions and activities related to compensation, benefits, health and financial wellness programs and total rewards.

Leads the Total Rewards team. Plans and implements best practices in compensation and benefits programming. Rollout and implementation of programs and services.

Tricia Kennedy, Benefits Coordinator
Provides staff support for benefits inquiries. Administers plan enrollment and payroll deductions. Liaison to benefits vendors.

ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions and activities related to organization-wide staff development and serves an advisory role with respect to organizational development.

Provides consultative support to offices and departments on topics such as organizational strategy, succession planning, change management and staff development. Oversees professional development policies at Emerson. Oversees the performance management process.

HR COMPLIANCE

This function is responsible for the policies, processes, guidance and oversight of HR compliance-related matters and serves an advisory role with respect to HR compliance to offices and departments.

Oversees leave administration and employee accommodations.  Manages HR compliance-related matters.  Serves as a liaison with the Chief HR Officer and Office of General Counsel on compliance- and policy-related matters.  Manages the program registration and training for College-wide programs hosting minors on campus.
