Domestic Partner Benefits

Eligible employees and their same-sex domestic partners who are not legally allowed to marry under State law, and their qualified dependent(s), are eligible to participate in health, dental and tuition benefits.

There are certain criteria that must be met in order to obtain coverage for a same sex partner. Employees interested in this benefit will be asked to complete an affidavit certifying that their partner qualifies as a "spousal equivalent" in terms of residence, length of the partnership, and financial interdependence.

There are also tax implications for the employee in obtaining coverage for a partner.

Please contact the Office of Human Resources for additional information.
