Housing & Dining

New Residents

Congratulations & Welcome to Emerson

Now that you’ve been accepted, what’s next?

Undergraduate Students

Follow these steps to secure your spot in Emerson housing:

  1. Submit your enrollment deposit by May 1. Please note that housing assignments are made by the date the College receives the enrollment deposit, so the earlier you turn in your deposit, the more likely you are to receive your first preference in housing. Enrollment deposits can be submitted online through the Application Portal.

  2. Learn more about Emerson’s residence halls and learning communities to find a living environment that’s right for you.

  3. After submitting your enrollment deposit, you’ll receive an email inviting you to create your eCommon account.  Once your account is activated, you'll see the option in eCommon to submit your housing application, which includes the roommate questionnaire.

  4. Housing and Residence Life will send an email to all incoming students' Emerson email account in late July that includes:

    1. Placement information about where you're living and your roommate(s)/suitemates

    2. Check-in times and move-in information

    3. Hall opening and closing dates

    4. A parking placard for move-in (via postal mail)
  5. Get ready to move in!

Graduate Students

Although Emerson does not offer graduate student accommodations on campus, nearby neighborhoods in Boston offer a wide variety of housing choices. Off-Campus Student Services is available to offer assistance in finding roommates and locating apartments.

Orientation leaders — the students in the red T-shirts — help you move in when you pull up to your dorm. Here, students get ready to help in the Little Building.
