Wellness Education

Wellness Educator Laura Collins

Laura McAvey, Coordinator of Wellness Education at the CHW

The Wellness Education program seeks to support students in their academic achievement by promoting good health in the Emerson community.  College is a time when students continue to or begin to adopt lifestyle habits which last for years or even throughout their lives.

The Wellness Education program offers Emerson students the knowledge and skills necessary to make healthy choices now, and to continue to do so after graduation.

Wellness Education programming spans a variety of health issues facing college students today, such as: alcohol and drugs, body image and eating disorders, tobacco, sexual health, stress, and sleep.

The program seeks to raise awareness of these issues, with the goal of reducing the harm associated with them. The Wellness Education program focuses on self-empowerment and the prioritization of personal wellness.
