MISSION- Our primary mission is to provide an environment that supports the health and wellness of each student enhancing the learning environment of the Emerson College community.The Center provides a range of health and wellness services and programs to meet the needs of Emerson College students.
The Center is directed by a Nurse Practitioner. The staff includes Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistant, a Nutritionist and a Health & Wellness Educator. A supervising physician is available on-call when medically necessary.
The Center is open Monday through Friday throughout the academic year. Services are provided on an appointment basis. Call us at 617-824-8666 to schedule an appointment or obtain health advice.
Eligibility for Care
All students who pay the College Health Fee are eligible for services. Students are required to have a health record completed by their health care provider on file at the Center for Health and Wellness prior to their arrival on campus.
As mandated by Massachusetts State Law Chapter 76, Section 15 C, this record must include valid and current immunizations.
Confidentiality
Information concerning student visits to the Center for Health & Wellness and all health records are strictly confidential and only released with the student's written permission.
When the Center is closed
For urgent care go to the nearest hospital Emergency Room. Public Safety will facilitate transportation whenever possible, call 617-824-8888. During school breaks non-urgent care is available at Medical Care Affiliates, One Boylston Plaza, Boston, (617) 262-1500 or you may go to any physician's office of your choice. Students treated outside the Center are responsible for all bills incurred.
Emergencies
If you experience a life threatening medical emergency call 911 immediately (Boston Emergency Services). Give them your name and location. Stay on the line until you are told to hang up. Contact Public Safety at 617-824-8888. They can provide additional assistance and help to direct the Emergency responders.
