Emerson has two work programs for graduate and undergraduate students attending the college. Just follow the necessary steps below, then search for your job. You'll be working in no time!

Step 1
Students may apply for jobs online at http://ecampus.emerson.edu/jobs.  Once you have been hired by a supervisor the Student Employment staff will verify that you have an I9 and W4 on file in the Office of Student Employment.  All students must have an I9 and W4 on file before they can complete a work authorization form online.

Step 2
Students who do not have an I9 and W4 on file will be emailed by the Student Employment staff with instructions that they must stop by the Student Service Center (80 Boylston Street, the Little Building) with their identifying documents to complete these forms.  Some acceptable documents include but are not limited to:

  • A US Passport
  • A US Driver’s License and a certified copy of your US Birth Certificate
  • A US Driver’s License and your original, non-laminated Social Security Card
  • Your Emerson College ID Card and a certified copy of your US Birth Certificate
  • Your Emerson College ID Card and your original, non-laminated Social Security Card

A complete list of the acceptable documents can be found at the Student Service Center and in the Student Employment Manual for Students.  Please be advised that we cannot accept faxes or photocopies of these documents.  We can only accept originals.

Step 3
After the Student Employment staff has verified that you have an I9 and W4 on file, your supervisor will receive an e-mail stating that she/he may complete his/her portion of the work authorization form online at http://ecampus.emerson.edu.

Step 4
Once your supervisor has completed his/her portion of the work authorization form online, you will be emailed with detailed instructions on how to complete your portion of the work authorization form online.  To do so, please go to http://ecampus.emerson.edu/jobs.  Follow the instructions regarding logging in.  Once you have logged in, click on the Jobs link on the left-hand side of the page.  Next click on the Check Application(s) status link.  You will be able to sign your work authorization form here.

Note:  You may only begin working after you have received an authorization e-mail from the Student Employment staff.

If it is determined that a department/organization has had a student working for them without authorization, the department/organization puts itself in jeopardy of losing the privilege of having student employees.
