Charanne ClarkePart Time Faculty (2000) M.A., University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; Ph.D., University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill C.C. has backgrounds in academia, the legal field, and as head of an international organization working for women's health in developing countries. She left the administrative scene to follow a range of creative interests, including writing and most recently - photography. Her photo series - "Apostles of the Spire" – on sculpture at the Notre-Dame de Paris won an Honorable Mention in the first annual International Photography Award competition. She is currently writing an article based on this photo series. C.C. came to LA in 1991, with a screenplay that was a runner-up for the Summer Sundance Institute. In her favorite genre – the political thriller - Where the River Ran, hypothesizes an American detective finding the murderers of Tsar Nicholas II and his family. Her script Charity is based on her familiarity with the politics of American Aid in Africa and was nominated for the Diane Thomas Screenwriting Award at UCLA. She has also taken courses in Entertainment Law and production management at UCLA. For the past seven years she has worked with Director Jon Hess as his Assistant in numerous activities, including serving as Production Coordinator for a low-budget film, and with the Emerson LA directing workshop. |
