To the Los Angeles Program Community:
H1N1 influenza vaccine is arriving in the state of California in very limited quantities, and this early vaccine is targeted to health care workers and high-risk individuals. By the end of October, the California Department of Public Health expects the vaccine to be more widely available. At that time, vaccine will be offered to the public at selected locations.

Seasonal flu shots are available every day at MinuteClinic, while supplies last. No appointment necessary. Pneumonia shots are also available.
Any student who does become sick with the flu should isolate themselves as much as possible from others to minimize spread. Stay out of class, work and social settings; do not travel; and rest as much as possible.
It is advisable for all Los Angeles students to consult the website of the Center for Health and Wellness at Emerson College regarding flu prevention and preparedness, and also speak with their families prior to any vaccinations. Further information regarding policies and implementation of seasonal and H1N1 flu shots will be posted on this website.
