KASTEEL Well Application
-
THE ONLINE APPLICATION FOR FALL 2010 AND SPRING 2011 WILL BE AVAILABLE BEGINNING MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2009. THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2009.
- Application Deadlines. Beginning this academic year admission to the Kasteel Well Program will be determined by RANDOM LOTTERY, NOT first-come first-served. Applicants should receive notification of their acceptance status within one month of the application deadline. To maintain adequate representation in all subject areas, honors students and musical theatre majors will receive some preference for admission to the fall term. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.
- Applicants may apply for only one term. Applying for both terms at the same time is not allowed. Make certain you apply for the correct term as changing terms at a later date will put you at the bottom of the wait list for that term. Musical Theatre majors and Honors Students must apply for the fall term of their sophomore year.
- Qualifications. Students must be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher, and have no social sanctions against them.
- New Freshmen: The computer will automatically upload your academic information. After the conclusion of the fall term applications will be reviewed and that information updated by International Study and External Programs staff.
- New Transfers: The computer will automatically upload your academic information.
- Program Deposit. Upon approval to attend, a non-refundable and non-transferable program deposit of $300 is required. Spaces are not held for applicants, even approved applicants, without a confirmation deposit.
- Room and Board. Housing is mandatory. Students are housed in single, double, triple and quad rooms. Rooms are assigned according to seniority. There is also a mandatory 14-meal-per-week food plan. A $50 security deposit is required.
- One final tip: Please be aware that we usually have more applicants for the fall term than for the spring. You may want to consider applying to spring term to increase your chances of admission.
| Attention Non-U.S., NON-E.U. Applicants: In order to pursue a course of study in the Netherlands at an institution of higher education, you need to maintain an appropriate immigration status. Due to recent and more strict application of Dutch immigration rules, non-U.S. and non-E.U. citizens have encountered difficulties obtaining the required Authorization for Temporary Stay {Machtiging tot Voorlopig Verblijf, or MVV} from the Netherlands. There is no guarantee during this period that the MVV will be approved by the Dutch government. MVV applications must be submitted approximately 9 months in advance.) Please consult with David Griffin, Director of International Study and External Programs, or the Dutch Consulate in the U.S. or in your home country for further information, requirements and procedures. |
