INTERNATIONAL STUDY and External Programs

International Study and External Programs is committed to providing Emerson students with opportunities to explore their academic goals in alternate settings.

In addition to the external programs sponsored by the college at Kasteel Well, the Los Angeles Program, the Prague Summer Film Program and the Taiwan Study Program, students may enroll at non-affiliated international study programs for one semester only. The International Study and External Programs office is available to offer guidance and counseling to students regarding accredited programs offered by other colleges and universities.*

Through Emerson College's semester-long study abroad program at Kasteel Well, the Netherlands, students experience different cultures first-hand, study the wide variety of Europe's communication systems, practice and improve foreign language skills, and learn about Europe's rich history and art through course offerings focused on the liberal arts, and extensive travel opportunities.

The Los Angeles Program offers qualified juniors, seniors and graduate students a fast-paced semester of internships and courses for college credit, hands-on experience, and opportunities to network with communication and Exterior Office of the Los Angeles Centerentertainment industry professionals and Emerson College alumni in the Los Angeles area.

The Prague Summer Film Program offers a 4 week intensive experience in production, scripting and editing at the Academy of Performing Arts for Film and Television (FAMU), one of the top three film schools in Europe.

The Taiwan Study Program offers qualified students the opportunity to spend one semester at Emerson's sister school, Shih Hsin University, in Taipei, the capital of the Republic of China (Taiwan).  Shih Hsin University is the preeminent school of journalism, broadcasting and communication in Taiwan.Shih Hsin University Gate

* Approval of coursework for transfer, particularly within the major, is not automatic, and students must complete a Request for Transfer of Credits to Emerson College form approved by the Registrar before enrolling at another institution.
