The Library's Hidden Gems exhibit features work by incoming Emerson students. Students were given blank postcards and asked to describe or depict a hidden gem that has enriched their lives, but that may go unseen or unrecognized by others. These works are on display in the Library through September alongside images that point to the Library's own hidden gems.

New databases available online
Seven new databases are available at the Iwasaki Library:

ABI/Inform Complete includes more than 3,100 full-text titles covering business and economic conditions, corporate strategies, and management techniques, as well as competitive and product information.

Films on Demand provides online access to a collection of 3,800 television documentaries and feature-length films from Films Media Group and films for the Humanities and Sciences. Videos are available in Flash format.

Literature Resource Center provides information on thousands of authors and their works across literary disciplines and time frames, including plot summaries, literary criticism articles, author biographies, and the full text of literary journals, short poems, stories, novels, and author interviews.

Mintel Academic Reports offers product and industry market research reports covering U.S. and international marketplaces. Reports provide data and analysis of the competitive landscape, supply chain, market-share size and trends, and consumer profiles.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center provides issue-based information on controversial or timely topics: pro and con viewpoint articles, reference articles for context, full-text magazines, academic journals, and newspapers, primary source documents, and government and organizational statistics.

ProQuest Central is a collection of databases providing access to over 9,000 titles in full text. It includes 880 full-text U.S., Canadian, and international newspapers, including access to the full text of The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times. It also includes nearly 30,000 full-text dissertations in the areas of business, psychology, physical sciences, health, and education. Subjects covered extensively include business and economics, health and medical, news and world affairs, social sciences and more.

TRACFed offers direct dynamic access to a wide range of federal data concerning enforcement, staffing, and spending. Reports contain detailed information about federal staffing, federal funds, and the diverse characteristics of counties, federal districts, and states.

Users may access these databases via emerson.edu/library by choosing "Articles and More," then "Databases A–Z."
