Q. Why did you choose Emerson?
My goal was to live a life of a U.S. student. Emerson's Integratd Marketing Communication program really offered the time and opportunities that I was looking for. Customizability of the program and the array of electives appealed to me. I had also heard a great deal about Boston from family and friends and wanted to explore the city myself.

Q. What do you love about your field/major?
Marketing is about making people happy, putting a smile on their faces, and making their lives better. How consumers think, how they act, and what they like or dislike is what drives us marketers to help them pursue their dreams. I love the aspect of simplicity in complexity in this field — the idea of communicating the most complex ideas into simple forms that resonate.

Q. What do you like about Emerson?
Emerson, though a small school, has a lot to offer. There is an abundance of opportunities both in academics and extracurricular activities that creates balance and allows students to excel in both areas.

Q. Describe a typical day or week
I like to be up early anyways, helps me plan my day. Typical days at Emerson have differed for me every semester, but with my classes being in the evening, I would schedule everything else, whether working on campus or group meetings, before that.

Q. How have Emerson faculty helped you?
Faculty have been extremely great! First of all, the variety of professors ranging from those only involved in academia to those with a lot of industry experience gives us a good perspective on our majors. They are not only a great resource for understanding the industry but also for advising on how to move forward within the program and beyond it.

Q. How have you changed personally between your first day at Emerson and now?
I have changed quite a bit in these last two years or so. I still remember I was anxious when I came here about the uncertainty of everything — people, program, place. I'm worked hard in this program to achieve all I could and am happy with myself.

Q. What do you hope to do with your Emerson degree?
"Create heroes."

Q. What advice would you give to an incoming Emerson student?
Be proactive, really proactive. Opportunities are "half chances" only if you grab them. It is totally worth it to be involved in a lot of things. Explore the city. Boston is beautiful and has a lot to offer. And yes, layer up!
