Emerson Los Angeles
ELA is a sustainable facility encompassing over 100,000 sq. ft. of space that can house up to 200 Emerson students each fall and spring semester.
In addition to several floors of dorm rooms, the green facility also contains classrooms, a lounge area with large screen televisions, performance and rehearsal studios with dance floors and professional lighting, a computer lab, study areas, a fitness facility/gym, laundry room, ELA staff offices, 3-level underground parking garage, retail space on street level and an expansive park-like outdoor terrace on floor 5. ELA also houses a multi purpose event space, audio post-production rooms, an executive screening room, editing rooms, a copy center and mailroom and a long-distance learning center. Emerson Los Angeles is a media hub: the entire building has the ability to facilitate any kind of media function. The College is purchasing a slew of top-of-the-line equipment for ELA, including Sony PMWF3 and Sony PMW400 cameras, to help audio and visual students reach their full potential.
ELA FITNESS CENTER
Monday - Friday from 7am to 11pm
Saturday - 10am - 6pm
Sunday - 10am - 11pm
Students have access to the ELA Fitness Center located on the 4th floor
Parking will be provided for Emerson students in ELA’s underground parking garage. The cost will be $505 for spring and fall semesters and $350 for summer semester students. This cost will be added onto the semester bill. Students can opt-out of the parking plan by emailing email@example.com
Students who have paid for the parking plan will be given a parking pass/transponder and access to their assigned parking space after completing the check-in process during arrival days. The garage height clearance is 6'8" at its lowest point. Please pack and choose your vehicle with care.
Students who have opted out of the parking plan will need to utilize a local parking garage.
THERE WILL BE NO PARKING PERMITTED ON NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS BY EMERSON COLLEGE STUDENTS, FACULTY AND EMPLOYEES.
Mailboxes are located on the 4th floor and are available at all hours. Students will receive their mailbox combination code upon arrival. Facilities management will email you if you receive a package.

There are washing machines and dryers located on the 4th floor. The laundry room is open 24/7. Students can use their Emerson ID card to pay $1.50 per cycle for washer/dryers.
5TH FLOOR OUTDOOR TERRACE
This outdoor space is part of the Residence Hall and is open to students 24/7. There are 3 barbeque gas grills and a fire pit for student use with views of downtown LA, the Paramount Studio Lot and Santa Monica.
AUDIO MIXING SUITE
The audio mixing suite is optimal for Visual and Media Arts majors’ post-production projects. Similar to the “Mix B” high-end video finishing and sound production room in the Tufte Performance and Production Center in Boston, this suite has a digital mixing board and Pro Tools 192 system, which enable students to edit with up to 64 different audio tracks
DISTANCE LEARNING CLASSROOM
The Vin Di Bona Distance Learning classroom gives students the opportunity to video chat with up to four different sources at the same time, allowing students to speak with people all around the world. This is a perfect space for contacting the Boston campus; fiber access between Emerson’s East and West Coast campuses will allow for live broadcasts and inter-classroom connections. If there is ever a guest lecture or special event happening on either campus, all students will have the opportunity to participate.
EXECUTIVE SCREENING ROOM
Bright Family Screening Room - West Coast. Students will have the chance to watch their own projects as well as professional work via a 4K-resolution projector in this mini-movie theater.
REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE STUDIOS
The building has two rehearsal and performance studios, both with dressing rooms. These spaces are similar to the ones found in the Paramount Center in Boston.
The computer labs are located on the 4th floor and iMacs and printers are available for student use.
There will be bicycle racks in the underground garage. No bikes will be allowed in the elevator or dorm rooms. Students will be responsible for locking their bikes.
