2009 Emerson College Undergraduate Commencement

Office Hours and Ticket Distribution:

NOTE: Every undergraduate student participating in commencement must request tickets to the ceremony. Follow the instructions below.

1. Log on to Interactive Services.
2. Click "Commencement Ticket Request"
3. "By clicking 'yes,' each undergraduate student eligible to participate in commencement will receive 3 guest tickets to the commencement ceremony at Citi Performing Arts Center (The Wang Theatre) and 2 additional guest tickets to view the commencement ceremony at the Cutler Majestic Theatre via electronic transmission. This allocation is based on an estimate of the total number of students who will participate in commencement and the seating capacity of the two venues.
4. Deadline to request tickets online is April 10, 2009. Requests for tickets can only be made on-line.
5. Ticket pick-up: April 13 – May 11, 2009 (Proper identification is required.)
   • Ticket Pick-up Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Some later hours to be determined)

   • E-mail Commencement@emerson.edu to have your tickets mailed. Tickets will be mailed only to students whose local address is outside the 01400 to 02999 zip code areas. Tickets will be mailed no sooner than April 13, 2009. All other students must pick up their tickets in person.
   • For students currently in the Los Angeles Program, tickets will be distributed from the LA Program Office.
   • Undergraduate students whose requests are approved will receive a minimum of three (3) guest tickets to the commencement ceremony at Citi Performing Arts Center (formerly The Wang Theatre), two (2) tickets to the Cutler Majestic Theatre, five (5) invitations, and six (6) tickets to the reception on the common.

Requirements to Request Commencement Tickets:

• Students must have applied for graduation through the Student Service Center
  
  
• Undergraduate students must also have a credit evaluation before his or her last semester of attendance to insure that the student will be academically clear to graduate by the expected graduation date.
  
  Tickets will only be available to students who have been cleared by the Registrar's Office.
  
  
• Students planning to complete their degree requirements as of September 1, 2009 may participate in the College's May Commencement ceremony provided the following requirements are met: (1) the student must request commencement tickets online no later than April 10, 2009; and (2) the student must register and pay for the final course work no later than April 29, 2009. The Registrar’s Office will notify the student and the Commencement Office via mail as to the status of the request to obtain tickets. Participation is allowed with the understanding that September graduates do not receive a diploma until degree completion in September.
  
  
• No student may participate in commencement exercises until all financial obligations to the College are met.

Caps and Gowns:

• Caps and gowns may be purchased at Emerson College Bookstore (617) 824-8696 beginning April 13, 2009.
• Cost includes the cap, gown, tassel, pin and hood.

Commencement Ceremony:

• Monday, May 18, 2009, 11:00 AM
• Location: Citi Performing Arts Center (The Wang Theatre), 270 Tremont Street, Boston
  
• The ceremony will conclude at approximately 1:00 PM.
• A reception will follow on the Boston Common from 1:15 to 2:45 PM.
