WHAT IS CCORCN?
The Campus Conversations on Race College Network (CCORCN) is a group of colleges affiliated through a shared belief that positive race relations and inclusion are key elements of an effective educational process. CCORCN members use the program, Campus Conversations on Race: A Talk Worth Having, (CCOR) as the primary instrument for advancing cross racial understanding among students.
The program uses a structured format to engage students in discussions on race. The CCOR program is based on a proven model of facilitated group discussion which uses case studies to engage participants. Over the past eight years it has been employed by numerous organizations and institutions, nationally and internationally. The list includes such varied organizations as the community education program for “La Amistad” (The traveling educational Schooner sponsored by the Amistad Foundation), the United States Armed Forces, colleges (Emerson, Skidmore, the University of Rochester and others), the United Church of Christ, the National Spiritual Assembly of Baha'is of the United States, the Bermuda Commission for Unity and Racial Equity (Bermuda CURE), the National Neighborhood Conversations on Race Committee, and many others.
Charter members of the Campus Conversations on Race College Network are:
Boston College, Berklee College, Colby College, Emerson College, Florida International University, Lesley University, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Massasoit Community College, Pace University, Springfield College and Tufts University, Harvard University, Westchester Community College.
