How to Register
Many of the courses offered through the Department of Professional Studies and Special Programs are open-enrollment, which means taking a course is as easy as paying for your seat, provided you have a high school diploma or GED and the prerequisite knowledge the course requires (including a bachelor's degree for graduate course registration). The following tuition and fees pertain to Professional Studies students who enroll in credit-bearing courses.*
You may register by phone, fax, e-mail, or in person, and you must make payment at the time of registration to reserve your seat. Once registered you will receive written confirmation that you are enrolled.
PLEASE NOTE: You must be accepted into an Emerson degree program AND you must matriculate to enroll in credit-bearing courses during the fall and spring semesters. Unless noted otherwise, Professional Studies fall and spring semester course offerings are noncredit. Register now!

Payment Options for Adult Lifestyles
The Department of Professional Studies recognizes that the cost of college can be one of the greatest barriers for adults returning to school. We offer the following financial assistance programs to qualified matriculated students. The Professional Studies staff is happy to help you find the financial assistance that is right for you.
- Full Payment Options - Students may pay for classes using credit cards, personal checks, cash or even direct billing to employer tuition plans. Note: individuals must pay course fees in full at the time of registration for non-credit courses and workshops.
- Deferred Payment Option - During the fall and spring semesters, for a $25 fee, qualified matriculated students may pay 25 percent of tuition at registration and distribute the remaining cost into monthly payments throughout the semester.
- Corporate Reimbursement Deferment Option - For qualified matriculated students in approved programs, and who receive reimbursement through their employer, we provide the option of deferring 75 percent of the total tuition cost until 30 days after the end of the semester. This option is only available during the fall and spring semesters.
- Financial Aid - A student may qualify for federal and other financial assistance and loan programs in approved academic programs after the student has been officially accepted.
