Dining Service
There are four meal plans available to students: a Block Plan, which includes 158 meals plus 10 guest meals, and 350 Board Bucks per semester; a Weekly Plan, which includes 14 meals per week plus 10 guest meals, and 100 Board Bucks per semester; a Flex Plan, which includes 101 meals plus 10 guest meals, and 650 Board Bucks per semester; and the Commuter Plan (not available to resident students), which includes 50 meals plus 150 Board Bucks per plan.
Board Bucks are flexible Board Plan dollars which can be used to make purchases at any college food service operation or C-Store, except for Emerson's Cafe. Unused Board Bucks at the end of the Fall semester will be carried over to the Spring semester. At the end of the academic year, fifty percent of any unused Board Bucks balance in excess of ten dollars is refundable upon written request to the Office of Student Administrative Services.
EC cash is a predeposited dollar account that is available to students, faculty, and staff for purchases at any college food service operation and other selected facilities on campus. All undergraduate students residing in Emerson residence halls are required to participate in either the Block Plan, Weekly Plan or Flex Plan.
Students may change their meal plan once per semester. Changes are initiated in the Office of Student Administrative Services and must occur prior to the end of the college's add/drop period. Changes made will be effective no later than the Monday following the submission of the student's change request form. Additional changes will be granted under extreme circumstances by appeal to the Food and Housing Petition Board (please contact the Office of Housing and Residence Life for information regarding the petition process).
